Abbas Rabiee, Ph.D., SMIEEE, received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Tehran, Iran, in September 2006. He earned both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Power Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (SUT) in Tehran, receiving them in September 2008 and February 2013, respectively. Dr. Rabiee is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Université Laval in Canada. He has been a Senior Member of the IEEE since July 2018.
His current research primarily focuses on net-zero energy systems, addressing the technical, operational, and policy challenges related to their development and integration. He also serves as the Canadian representative for Task 25 of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Wind Technology Collaboration Programme, which emphasizes the design and operation of power systems utilizing significant amounts of wind power.
Dr. Rabiee has received multiple recognitions for his contributions to academia and research. Notably, he was awarded the Premium Award for Best Paper by IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution in 2019.
