Vagesh Kumar

Vagesh Kumar is a Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Université Laval, Quebec, under the supervision of Prof. Innocent Kamwa. His research focuses on power system stability and control, the application of artificial intelligence in power system operations and security with high shares of inverter-based resources, and intelligent monitoring of sustainable energy systems.

He holds an M.Tech. in Power Systems Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India, where he developed machine learning–based algorithms for PMU data recovery, and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from VBS Purvanchal University, India. With more than 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals and international IEEE conferences, and service as a reviewer for over 30 research papers, his work spans PMU data analytics, smart grid resilience, and AI-driven control strategies for modern power networks.
